Blue Dogs Appoint Rep. Max Rose to Co-Chair National Security Task Force
WASHINGTON—Today, the Blue Dog Coalition announced its appointment of Rep. Max Rose (NY-11), a member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, to be Co-Chair of the Blue Dog Task Force on National Security. He will join Rep. Kendra Horn (OK-05), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, to co-lead the National Security Task Force.
Members of the Blue Dog Task Force on National Security include the following: Rep. Charlie Crist (FL-13), Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15), Rep. Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05), Rep. Stephanie Murphy (FL-07), and Rep. Brad Schneider (IL-10).
The Task Force on National Security proactively engages on issues that promote a strong and smart national security for the United States. The group pursues policies that better protect the American people and our allies, and ensures American leadership around the world.
“There’s nothing I take more seriously than protecting our homeland and ensuring the national security of the country I fought to defend,” said Rep. Max Rose (NY-11), an Army combat veteran and newly-appointed Co-Chair of the Blue Dog Task Force on National Security. “Because when it comes to our safety and security, there’s no place for politics and partisanship—lives are on the line. That’s why it’s more critical than ever for us to work closely with our allies to confront the continued and rising threats of terrorism and extremism, both at home and abroad. I’m honored to be appointed Co-Chair of the Blue Dog Task Force on National Security and look forward to continuing our work to ensure we’re prepared for the threats of today and tomorrow.”
“Our national security requires more sophistication than ever,” said Rep. Kendra Horn (OK-05), Co-Chair of the Blue Dog Coalition’s Task Force on National Security. “Our country’s safety depends on smart, stable policy and reliable, responsible funding. Throughout this Congress, the Coalition has led efforts to secure our elections, punish China for funneling deadly fentanyl in our streets, and crackdown on domestic terrorism. I’m looking forward to working with my co-chair, Congressman Max Rose to build on the Coalition’s efforts to put forward commonsense, bipartisan solutions.”
